Dog Rescue Stories: Beau Was Chained to a Tree for Three Weeks at a Time

Beau used to live with a man who would travel for work, and he would leave Beau chained to a tree for three weeks at a time. He would come home for a week, and then left again, leaving Beau chained for another three weeks. When Beau’s human was away, he was left in the “care” of housemates who were terrified, as Beau was aggressive. Because of this, he had very little human contact and never had enough food or water. The only shelter he had was the tree he was chained to.

One day, Beau’s former human moved away, and left Beau chained to that tree. A few weeks later, Beau managed to get loose from his chain and started chasing cattle on a nearby farm. Beau’s now human brother was working on this farm, and was notified by the farm manager that Beau was going to be shot.
Beau’s human brother would not let Beau get shot, but he was also not in a position to care for a dog. Thankfully, Beau’s now forever parents offered to foster him and help find him a forever home.
Beau’s mom and dad drove to the farm to pick him up, and Beau’s mom’s heart sank. She saw a beautiful animal who had been physically and mentally abused and left for dead. Despite all this, Beau looked at her with hope in his eyes. She knew that his forever home was with her and her husband. It was as if their souls saw each other and said, “Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for you!”
When Beau first arrived in his forever home, his parents would sit in their large, one acre backyard with him. He would sit in one corner, and his parents would sit on a rug in the other corner, with their other dog, a seven year old Jack Russell mix named Bear (he also has a new, rescued fur sister named Kirra!). Beau got closer to his new parents and fur brother each day, and would relax, more and more. He was severely malnourished, underweight, full of fleas & worms, had an ear infection, old, untreated bone breaks and he was covered in scars.
Eventually, Beau began to trust his forever family completely, and they all fell in love. His parents have done everything in their power to keep him happy, healthy and loved. Beau’s mom loves coming home every day and seeing his big, wagging tail and smiling face. He even starts “talking” when she arrives! He keeps his mom company when his dad is away for work (he’s a long distance truck driver).ย Beau is his mom’s soulmate, love of her life, and her best friend.

I was tagged by my bestie @embracingkarma for the 20 things about me… I’ve tagged some furiends to play along if they want ๐Ÿ™ƒ 1) Kirra & I were both rescues 2) my nickname is Bobo, Kirra is Moo (aka Missy Moo) 3) I have many signs of physical abuse including a broken pinky toe, missing teeth, scaring all over my body, chronic ear infection from not being treated and multiple old fractures. 4) Kirra is scared of everything but is slowly adjusting to being loved 5) i love to sleep which is why most of my photos I’m laying down 6) i have arthritis so I have to take it easy 7) my food has been cut back as the vet said I’m getting fat (how rude!) 8) i was severely underweight when I was rescued, I was left tied to a tree for 3 weeks when I was abandoned and people were scared to come to close as I was quite grumpy, you would be too if you were starving. I’ve since gained 25kg to get to a healthy weight (and a bit extra) 9) i am still a very good guard dog and protect mummy from bad men who jump the fence 10) i dribble… A LOT we have “beau rags” strategically placed all over the house ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ฆ 11) Everyone’s food tastes better than mine 12) i tell Kirra and bear off when their play gets too rowdy “hey you kids get off my lawn” 13) i like to give paw but if you aren’t looking mum said it hurts coz it’s like being punched in the face ๐Ÿ‘Š 14) i like to greet people with my teddy or by talking to them 15) I’m not a big people licker but I will nibble the end of your nose if you let me 16) I don’t like thunder and like to tell it to go away 17) i have my own water bucket as I leave “drool jellyfish” at the bottom 18) I nudge between mum and dad if he gives her hugs & kisses coz that’s gross 19) i love my life and even when the gate got left open by someone accidentally I just checked that the driveway was safe, pee’d on the letterbox and went back to bed 20) i love seeing all my IG friends adventures, mum and I go through them and she flicks through as my thumbs don’t work coz I don’t have any but I tell her what to write. Peace out my favourite buddies sorry if I bored you with that! Love you all โคโค๐Ÿพ

Well mum tricked us to think we were going for a walk by putting Kirra on a lead (shes terrified of the hose)caught us, bathed us and then bribed us with @savourlife treats… how else do you get the three of us to sit nicely! Hopefully Kirra will get better and better when she sees bath time isn’t so scary and there’s treats if your good ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿช๐Ÿช๐Ÿช 2 wet dogs and 1 drowned rat ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ #mastiff #rescuedog #mastiffsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #dogstagram #beaufordjohngreen #dogsofperth #ilovemydog #adoptdontshop #followforfollowpets #dogsofinstagram #dogsofaustralia #dogstomy #dog_features #australiasbestdogs #kirra #bullarab #rhodesianridgeback #safebunbury #safe#MrBear #jackrussell #maltese #jackrussellofinstagram
