Julie Helmer shared a heartwarming story of how Maurice The Cat worked his way into her life and heart and how he’s found his forever home.

Julie writes, “Our fourteen-year-old dog had passed away and we vowed to never get another.” (Editor’s note: Famous last words as all pet parents know!)  “One month to the day we lost our little dog, this little fella came crawling out of the woods behind our house and onto our deck.”

He was sick, skinny and injured. She wrote that they were not “cat people,” but they were drawn to this kitty. “Our hearts were so broken over our recent loss and this cat needed to be loved. We couldn’t leave him to die or be eaten.”

Maurice was taken to the vet for treatments and now, almost three years later, Julie write, “We have the cutest, happiest cat in the world.”

Editor’s Note: He certainly is adorable and looks very relaxed and loved!
