By Jarissa Aquinde, Positively Woof Rescue and Adoption Story Editor10 year old Bobby was adopted him in November 2016 from Blind Dog Rescue UK. He was found in a shelter in Bulgaria, where he had lived for over a year. He is completely blind and had been abandoned on the street after his elderly owners died and their family did not want him.Bobby was well looked after in the shelter but blind dogs are hard to re-home. Thankfully, a local rescuer, AJ, found him and Blind Dog Rescue UK transported him to a foster home in the UK.Bobby’s forever family saw his picture just before he arrived and they fell in love! Three weeks later, they picked him up and the rest is history!Bobby doesn’t let his blindness hold him back and loves walks and playing with his toys. He has his own Instagram account (@bobby.the.blindie) which they use to show the world that blind dogs live just as happy lives as fully sighted dogs and lack of sight should not put off people from adopting dogs like Bobby.

The weather is awful today so here’s one from last weekends beach walk. As many of you know, 💁🏻👨🏻volunteer for Blind Dog Rescue UK, the charity that brought me to the UK. At the moment @bdruk1 are holding a dog photography competition on their website and Facebook so if any of you are interested in winning some lovely prizes and supporting a really worthwhile cause then check out the link in my bio or search for Blind Dog Rescue UK on Facebook. You’ll see some photos of me there, don’t worry there is an independent judge, in fact a celebrity judge- Edwina Currie! She will be doing the difficult job of choosing the winners after the competition closes on the 30th. Although she is famous for being a politician, author and tv personality what a lot of people don’t know is she loves dogs and does a lot to help out dog charities!
Today we went for a walk with @theworldaccordingtoharris and his 🙋🏻 around Dalkeith Country Park! It was so warm and sunny and the woods were so quiet (apart from my barking 🙈). Fiona (@theworldaccordingtoharris ‘s 🙋🏻) took this photo of me and we had to share it straight away as we love it! Thank you Fiona! 🤗
💁🏻has been very lax with updating my Instagram this weekend as she’s been busy with some exciting Blind Dog Rescue UK stuff. This was taken on Friday when we went to Lauriston Castle. This spot is in the Kyoto friendship garden which was so full of blossom it was amazing but we liked this spot with the acer in the background.
