Chili was abandoned at an animal hospital in New York. She had two broken legs (which had been broken for some time).Chili struggled to get around, via a little heart-breaking bunny hop, with most of her weight on her front legs. She loves being outdoors, but her walks were restricted to about 100 feet (with a fair few stops along the way because she gets tired easily, due to the nature of her movement). Around the house, she preferred to drag her back legs along the floor.
Chili’s foster parents have been caring for her for nearly 3 months, through the pit bull charity, Save-a-bull
. Hundreds of dog lovers came together and raised a little over $12K for two big leg surgeries via Chili’s YouCaring Page
. Chili’s surgeries were successfully performed at Tufts Animal Hospital
, and she is on her road to recovery! She’s very hesitant on her (bionic) back legs, but her foster parents are hoping her rehabilitation program at Canine Rehab of NY
will change her mind!
Thanks to Save-a-bull
, her foster parents, and the generosity of hundreds of strangers, Chili will be able to walk, run, and experience as much joy as she gives to those around her!
