Lucy was born in Georgia and at just eight weeks old, was rescued by Georgia Animal Rescue and Defense. Lucy, her mother, and her five siblings traveled up to New Jersey, where they were taken in and fostered by a group called Love to Live Animal Rescue.
Lucy’s grandpawrents met Lucy at an adoption event and began the process of adopting her as a Christmas present for Katie. Katie’s old dog had passed away several months earlier and she really wanted another dog in her life. They came home told Katie to close her eyes, and placed tiny, 9lb Lucy in her arms. Katie cried, Lucy licked her new mom’s tears and they’ve been best friends ever since.
Lucy and Katie now live in Lavallette, NJ and Lucy gets to go play at either the bay or beach at least once a day, usually more…and sometimes both! She’s the most loving dog you’ll meet and her forever mom doesn’t know what she’d do without her.
