Dog Rescue Stories: Whiskey and Her Brother were Left Behind When Their “Family” Moved

One night, Dustie got a call from her brother, telling her that his neighbors had suddenly up and left. He had found two, four week old puppies on their property, huddled in a dog house without their mother, food or water. Dustie and her boyfriend weren’t planning on adding another dog to their family at the time, but her heart couldn’t take it. Dustie’s brother kept the boy pup, who is now named Oakley, and she took in Whiskey.Whiskey, a Pit Bull/Dachsund mix, was absolutely terrified and would not eat or drink any water. She was covered in fleas and had scabs all over her body. Even though she was terrified, she let her new forever mom bathe her. Whiskey finally ate something, and sadly, it was clear that she had been starved. As weeks passed, Whiskey started getting bigger, happier and she started to come out of her shell!Whiskey is now two years old and she is the best thing that could have happened to her forever parents – she is an angel sent from above! She makes her forever family whole. Dustie doesn’t know what they would do without her. She’s extremely sassy and has an amazing, loving personality. She also LOVES unicorns and digging! 💕
