assistance dog weekWhat is International Assistance Dog Week?

It is a week created to recognize all of the “devoted, hardworking assistance dogs helping individuals mitigate their disability-related limitations.” Because assistance dogs can transform the lives of their human partners who deal with physical and mental disabilities, these companions become best friends and members of the family.

The purpose of International Assistance Dog week is to recognize and honor the hardworking assistance dogs, raise public awareness and educate the public on the tasks these highly trained animals perform and honor those families who raise and train the puppies who will become assistance dogs.
