Pet Rescue Stories: Adopting Brutus Inspired His Pawrents to Foster Rescue Pups!

Brutus Featured
Brutus was found by Charlotte Animal Control, wandering through the woods with his brother. The Greater Charlotte SPCA took him and his brother into their rescue, and that’s when Heather and her husband received a call, as they had been patiently waiting for a bulldog to adopt. They decided that a breeder wasn’t for them, and knew that they wanted to add a rescue dog to their family. They adopted Brutus on August 24, 2014, and he was heartworm positive. Heather and her husband Brutus Gotcha Dayknew Brutus would need to be crated for a month during treatment, as dogs who test positive for heartworm need to have little to no increase in their heart rates.
As of October 6, 2014, Brutus has been heartworm free and giving him a forever home was one of the best things Heather and her husband have done! He has brought them more joy than they could ever have imagined. Adopting Brutus also put them in close contact with the Greater Charlotte SPCA, and they now foster adoptable dogs for them, as well. Adopting an animal has changed their lives forever, and they would do it again in a heartbeat!!
